McAfee, one of the most famous security software companies, sold for a record price. Purchases of the company, which were acquired by a group of investors, are expected to be completed in the first half of 2022.
In a recent statement, security software company McAfee said that “we are not going to be able to do this.” it was bought by a group of investors for $14 billion.
McAfee was acquired by Intel in 2010 for $7.68 billion after John McAfee, the founder of the company founded in 1987 and famed for computer antivirus software, left the company in 1994. In 2014, Intel announced that it was deprecating the McAfee brand name for its security software and rebranding it as “Intel Security”.
The deal is expected to conclude in the first half of 2022
McAfee, which made a sharp return to the stock market in October last year, said in a statement that it would continue as a “purely consumer cybersecurity” company after selling its Enterprise business to private equity firm Symphony Technology Group for $4 billion in July.
In an announcement Monday, the company announced that it would be res. Advent International Corp. said an agreement is expected in the first half of 2022 on its sale to investor groups including Permira Advisers and Crosspoint Capital Partners.
John McAfee died in June last year.

Shortly after Spain approved his extradition to the United States to face tax fraud charges, McAfee was found dead in a Barcelona prison cell in June.
