Remembering Stormy Nicole Smith Jameson A Loving Coach And Mother

“Honestly, the news of Stormy Nicole Smith Jameson’s demise literally stopped me in my tracks. I never met her, but the way people from Lovell talk about her feel she was someone whom everyone respected. Stormy passed away on November 23, 2025, in New Horizons Care Center, Lovell. At 39, she was so young when we think about how much she wanted in life.”

“Stormy was fighting Stage IV metastatic breast cancer that had already invaded her bones. I once saw someone close to me endure a similar situation, and it helped me understand how painful and frightening such things could be for a family. Reading Stormy’s story brought back many memories.”

“Born to Greg and Breanna Smith and raised with her brother Sinjin, she was born in Paris, Texas, on September 16, 1986. Reports say she always had energy and a spirit, both in school and in sports. It kind of reminded me of sporty kids at my school who seemed to shine everywhere.”

“}studied at Oklahoma Panhandle State University, played both volleyball and basketball, and graduated with a business and marketing degree in 2009. It is also where she met Michael Jameson, who played baseball and became close friends with her. They married on June 12, 2009, and later became parents to four kids named Kobi, Jace, Kali, and Jett. They were the center of her life.”

“Moved to Lovell, Wyoming, as the family eventually settled in. It was probably because they wanted that quiet lifestyle and open spaces. Lovell welcomed them with open arms, and soon after, Stormy became part of almost everything going on in town: working at the Lovell Chronicle, doing her job as advertising manager, reporter, photographer, and designer. Workmates said she could do anything and that she made the place better just by being there.”

“Coaching was something she absolutely loved. She had coached volleyball and basketball and led the Lovell Bulldog volleyball team to a state championship in 2012, and she was recognized as Coach of the Year several times. Stormy also coached in the North-South All-Star games and garnered many long-lasting friendships.”

“Friends said that she had such a warm laugh that it made everyone feel good. Enjoyed silly challenges like popcorn eating contests or speedy crazy activities during family time. She could change normal moments into something funny. A friend of mine does the same thing, and it got me thinking of him while reading this.”

“Her back pain led to something serious in October 2025. The cancer had already metastasized, and everything changed quickly. She underwent surgeries, painful treatments, and prolonged hospital stays. Friends developed a GiveSendGo page to help with the travel and medical costs, while the community supported her family in every possible way.”

“During her last days, Stormy stayed with close family friends Stan and Melissa. They cared for her daily, filling her days with goodness. She passed peacefully early Sunday morning.”

“Surviving her are husband Michael, four children, parents, brother, and a much extended family, but not without grandparents before her.”

“On November 28, 2025, a celebration of her life will be held at Lovell High School in the Johnny Winterholler Gym. A viewing will take place at Haskell Funeral Home before her burial at Lovell Cemetery. The family established an account at Bank of Lovell for those wanting to support her children.”

“She made everybody feel special, stormy considered. I didn’t know her, apart from this story, but her departure will touch many lives. Her smile, strength, and love for her family will always be a memory.”
