CB South High School Football Player Tim Goldberg’s Brother Andy Goldberg Dies at 20

Andrew Goldberg, a name that might ring a bell for many, even better known as Andy, the younger brother of Tim Goldberg, who played American football for CB South High School, has tragically passed away at the tender age of 20. This unfortunate incident leaves his parents, Amy and Mark Goldberg, as well as friends and the larger Warrington, Pennsylvania area, heartbroken.

Andy was a trainman for New Hope Railroad, and trains were, to be honest, his entire world. Unlike his older brother Tim, who had his heart set on football, Andy was always more enthusiastic about engines and tracks, old railroad stories. Ever since he was very young, he was curious about how trains worked, and his interest grew steadily from there.

Gosh, you should’ve seen people like dear Andy: someone who didn’t make a noise about their talent but whose love showed. Andy had that feeling where it was found early on and, bam, it stuck to him all his life. He was around trains and, frankly, it’s not easy, but he takes it with all the patience in the world, which says a lot about him as a person.

Tim Goldberg was among the family members who confirmed his brother’s death on 18 December 2025. That announcement was on his Facebook page and appeared predominantly emotional. The cause of death remains private; however, for those who knew him, the grief is palpable.

After the news broke, many people used social media to share messages describing Andy as equally kind and hardworking. One of his close friends defined him as a role model and “a guy who was always there when needed.” Those words hit hard because they speak not only to his commitment to his job but also to his goodness toward people.

Andy was that friend who would call you up to check if you needed anything, and at times would help you without hesitation, perhaps staying up late just to make sure you were all right. I have been fortunate to know some like that, leaving behind a huge void that never really fills.

He is also known for giving back; Andy was awarded the Joey Edwards Memorial Scholarship in 2024. This award reflected the degree of trust people had in him. In addition, he was president of the Operation Eternal Gratitude Club, an avenue for raising funds and helping those in need. This shows he cared about others, not just himself.

After the death of Andrew, his mother, Amy Goldberg, said that anyone who wants his memory to live on could donate to Kind Like Joey. This is a simple way to keep Andy’s kindness alive and help others as he did.

New Hope Railroad is losing something quite special. Andy wasn’t just an employee to many; he was part of the family. When one such is lost at such a tender age, people really hurt for one another.

Andrew “Andy” Goldberg is survived by his parents, Amy and Mark; his brothers, Tim and Dan; and innumerable friends, who will always cherish him. His life, although short, made a significant impact, and that’s what really matters.

Prayers continue to pour in for everyone who loved Andy as the Warrington community mourns. Good to know such things don’t happen without boundaries, not specifically for Andy, but in general; such cases always inspire us to ensure everyone gets to appreciate someone when they’re still around.

Rest in peace, young man. Your name will not be forgotten.
