Hank Newman, in a festive mood for Christmas, had a rather unfortunate drive home that suddenly turned into a nightmare. On the morning of December 14, 2025, Hank was driving home after attending school at Tarleton State University. Everything immediately shatters in an instant as it happened.
Hank Newman is from Texas and will graduate from Cedar Park High School in 2025. Back in the day in school, he was recognized for sports. He was a defensive end on the Timberwolves football team and also served as a goalie on the lacrosse team. Many recall that he was a hardworking chap. He always showed up and gave off his best whenever it mattered.
After high school, Hank made his way to the seat of learning, Tarleton State University. He studied business and continued playing lacrosse as a goalie for the club team. He had plans like most college kids: finish his studies, play the sport he loves, and build a nice future. But that suddenly hit the brakes, bringing it all to a halt.
Hank suffered gruesome injuries, according to everyone close to him. His right femur has been broken, as well as several ribs and part of the sternum. His left hip was also dislocated. Due to the severity of the injury, he had to be airlifted to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth and admitted straight to the ICU.
Surgery was performed that very evening. He had been talking to his family and was still conscious before the surgery. What surprised many people was that he clearly remembered the crash. Even with all the pain, his mind was sharp. That part gave some relief to his loved ones.
An online update from a friend, Beau Barksdale, said that Hank is in stable condition at the moment, though the recovery period is expected to be long. This is not something that heals in weeks. It is going to need patience and support.
Another friend, Aron Kwan, also encouraged people to pray for Hank. He is giving a description of the injuries and points out that Hank was actually alert and talking before going into surgery, and reading that honestly hit hard. I remember when someone from my school met with an accident and how the whole town suddenly felt quiet and worried. Situations like this make you realize just how fast life can turn upside down.

Friends and teammates have come forward to cheer him up. They say everything positive about Hank. He is always respectful and has been supportive of others. “I see him as my dear friend, and you can help with the medical and rehab costs,” said Rafa Valiente. “He is one of the best young men that I have found,” Myles Russell said, helping with donations or by prayers, even if someone cannot donate.
Even the Rangers Lacrosse, which Hank used to play for, expressed their support. They said, Our thoughts and prayers are with Hank and his family, and reminded everyone that although he is in a stable condition, there’s still a long road ahead.
In fact, to help financially burdened Hank pay hospital bills and the total incurred in rehab, teammates at Tarleton State launched a GoFundMe page. It sets a goal of 16000 dollars. The message on the page urges people to donate, on the condition that they can share and keep the family in their prayers.
This really exemplifies how tight-knit the sports community is, especially lacrosse players in Texas. When something bad happens, people step up. I have seen this myself during a school injury, when teammates suddenly become family.
Hank is still at Harris Methodist Hospital, with family around him. He cannot play sports now, but anyone who knows him believes he has the strength to fight back. The same mindset that made him a solid goalie will help him through recovery.
More updates are to come as he heals. Until then, the primary focus is on helping the Newman family get through this extremely tough time. For anyone wanting to help directly, the GoFundMe page is undoubtedly the best route.
