A father in North Carolina declared inappropriate contact involving older students and a younger child as part of some rough play activities at Kinston High School. Johnny Earl Waters says that the boy was sexually touched by a student, who placed a finger in the lower part of his body. People in the community talk about it anyway. They want some answers from the school officials and the police.
Sexual touching-horse-play in schools, more than most people think, does not just refer to touching or worse acts, but all actions occurring with no permission at all. Mostly, the offender knows his victim. No one deserves this. It does not even matter what clothes the victim had on or what they had done before. The aftereffects are worry, sadness, problems in class, and pain lasting years.
We all need to help build schools where children would treat each other with respect and care.
One dad, Johnny Earl Waters, is calling for action from Kinston High School after his claim that an older student touched a little child wrongly. He shared his displeasure on social media, where he said: “HANDS INTO THE BOY’S REAR ON AN OCCASION SCHOOL HOLIDAY EVENT.” Here, he mentioned ‘got’ referring to the kids.

Another parent whose child filmed part of the whole act was John JiggaMan Cobb. Speak on what you know, brother… This ain’t it… You have no idea what happened… They all were playing… The kid who is the victim told every parent and child involved he didn’t think anyone did that… He just felt uncomfortable from the wedgie… And in fact, it all started when he kept playing and throwing candy at everyone. It spread pretty quickly throughout the town, and many people want clear facts from the school and the authorities. The significant concerns about student safety and bullying prevention carry a powerful punch.
Short sentences have a bigger punch. Things like wedgies or group play can go from bad to worse quite quickly. No word yet on any inquiry from the school or police, however. People wait for nothing but to find out what really happened and whether punishment would be meted out.
My kid came home upset once due to some rough horseplay at school. It wasn’t anything along these lines, but it did mean I went right to the teacher to talk about what was happening. Kids do need adults to look closely. Fun should be fun. No one should feel threatened or hurt.
